01 — The Story

Two careers. One name.

Sali and City of Dreams have been in the room together since 2019 — long enough that FIFTEENSIXTEEN isn't a pivot, it's a place they'd already arrived at. Sali is a Jacksonville-born, LA-based singer-songwriter whose sync work has reached national television; City of Dreams is a Minneapolis-schooled producer and engineer whose credits run through BET, Showtime, and Starz. Years of separate sessions taught them the same thing from opposite sides of the board: patient, unhurried R&B and house, built to last. FIFTEENSIXTEEN is that instinct, shared — one name for two careers that were always headed to the same frequency.

02 — The Name

Why fifteensixteen.

Sali is 904 — Jacksonville, Florida. City of Dreams is 612 — Minneapolis, Minnesota. Put the two area codes together and you get 1516. What started as a coincidence became the name, because it turned out to fit something bigger than where they're from.

FIFTEENSIXTEEN is a duo built on duality — two crafts, production and songwriting, and two sounds, R&B and house, held together under one name. Two areas. Fifteen. Sixteen.

03 — The Artists

Individually accomplished. Now one thing.

Sali

Sali

Singer · Songwriter

Sali is a singer-songwriter born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida, now based in Los Angeles. He's been writing since the age of 11, and that early start shows in the instinct behind every song. An ear for melody paired with lyrics that go straight for what's real. His music moves fluidly between R&B and house, but he doesn't write to fit a genre; he writes to capture relatable feelings and emotions, giving listeners language for what they're already feeling.

His work has crossed from the booth to the screen with a sync placement on the BET series "Twenties," putting his sound in front of a national television audience. He continues to write, record, and perform in Los Angeles, developing new material for release and collaborating across R&B, house, and beyond.

City of Dreams

Producer · Engineer

Michael Olson, known as City of Dreams, is a producer and engineer who moves between R&B and house, bringing the same ear to both. He came up on the Minneapolis sound, and you can hear it in how he builds a record: warm low end, vocals close, space left where most would fill it. A studio man first, patient and precise rather than flashy, he makes music that's unhurried and built to last, meant to still sound right long after the moment it was made for.
